Problem
You receive a clarification asking for sources, or a message saying a source cannot be used for a public draft.
Possible causes
The source was not saved or selected, its audience is Private, its text expired or was deleted, or it does not support the requested facts. A writing sample alone is not factual evidence. A pasted URL is not automatically read.
Resolution
- Open Sources in Chat and check the selected items.
- Add relevant text as a new source if needed.
- Deliberately choose public-draft permission for appropriate material. Keep unrelated private text out.
- Select the source and confirm permission for the current instruction separately.
- Answer the clarification with a narrower brief if the evidence is still insufficient.
Expected result
The next task has usable, selected evidence. It can still ask a question if the source does not cover your request.
Related messages
“Please attach at least one source”, “Only public-approved sources can be used”, and “That source has expired” all point to a different part of this check.
Still need help?
Keep the source private while asking for help. Describe which selection or message is failing without sending its private body to a support contact.
