What sources do

Sources hold material used as evidence or context. Use them when a draft needs facts beyond your instruction. Use Brain → Sources to see saved items; add and select new material from Chat.

Important concepts

Origin describes where text came from. Audience describes whether it is eligible for public-content work. These are separate: public-approved external text remains external. A writing sample helps style but cannot replace factual evidence for a post.

Available actions

Read the list, check audience, select eligible material in Chat, or delete an item after reviewing the impact. To fix source text, add a corrected item instead of editing the saved source. Follow Add and select source material.

Current limitations

The Chat form currently creates external text sources. It does not upload PDFs or images, fetch arbitrary URLs, or provide an owner-sample declaration. Deletion can block dependent drafts. Expired raw text is unavailable for new tasks, even if minimal information about the source remains visible.
