Before deleting
Decide whether you need a private export first. Deletion can remove more than the item in the list: drafts that depended on a source or memory become blocked, and affected text can be removed from draft and chat previews. Previously downloaded copies are outside the application's control.
Delete a source or memory
- Open Brain and choose Sources or Memories.
- Find the item and choose Delete.
- Read the impact message and confirm once if you want to proceed.
- Check that the item is unavailable. Return to any affected draft to see its current state.
The deletion takes effect for new use before all cleanup finishes. Do not keep retrying the same action merely because an old page still shows a preview; refresh it.
What to do with blocked work
A blocked revision cannot be approved or downloaded. Create a new draft using remaining eligible sources. Do not expect deleting one source to revoke a file already saved on your device. Raw-text expiry is different from deliberate deletion: a confirmed memory can keep its statement under its own retention rules even when the original raw text has expired.
